This artwork belongs to my Mythological series.
Gamayun is a prophetic bird of Slavic folklore. It is a symbol of wisdom and knowledge and lives on an island in the mythical east, close to paradise.[citation needed] She is said to spread divine messages and prophecies, as she knows everything of all creation, gods, heroes, and man. Like the Sirin and the Alkonost, other creatures likewise deriving ultimately from the Greek myths and siren mythology, the Gamayun is normally depicted as a large bird with a woman's head.
I created this artwork using acrylic paint, graphic tools and markers on a cardboard (finnish cardboard with marble crump).

My new mixed-media painting from "Greek Mythology" series is ready!
This series has started from my Sirin bird drawing, and now it includes six big paintings.
I used acrylic paint, graphic tools and markers on a cardboard (strong finnish cardboard with marble crump).
This series is something new and unusual for me, beacuse usually I create architectural compositions. I think that it's like a new breath for my creative work.

When the Sirin's eggs hatch, a thunderstorm sets in and the sea becomes so rough that it becomes impossible to traverse. She is also the sister of other birds from Slavic mythology, such as Rarog and Stratim.

My new mixed-media painting of the beautiful Gorgon is ready!
In Greek mythology, Medusa also called Gorgo, was one of the three monstrous Gorgons, generally described as winged human females with living venomous snakes in place of hair. It is in the Roman poet Ovids Metamorphoses that her story is most deeply elaborated. She was lovely, according to the poemuntil she was raped by Poseidon in Athenas temple. Athena then punished her for this violation, by turning her into the monstrous, stony-glanced creature that we know. Thus those who gazed into her eyes would turn to stone. Most sources describe her as the daughter of Phorcys and Ceto, although the author Hyginus makes her the daughter of Gorgon and Ceto.

The history of the project is a study carried out by the author for six months in cooperation with a network of hy- permarkets. Sets of purchases on the cash ribbon were recorded by the author: the change of time of day and sea- sons of the year were reflected in these sketches. The infinity of the black ribbon and unpre- dictable combinations of goods were the basis of artistic speech.
The project was exhibited in the gallery as a single long installation, closing space. Black ribbon (canvas with black background) connects picturesque still lifes (compositions from sets of goods on the ribbon), matching them in color and width. Black background acts as a new ultra-modern space in which Goods steam. This is how a single environment appears, surrounding the viewer with a ring of portraits of modern consumption.
